Jodi Kellish Gets Prison for Sex with Teen

Jodi A. Kellish, 38-year-old former elementary school teacher from New Philadelphia, Ohio, who was convicted in November 2012 of unlawful sexual conduct and contributing to the delinquency of a high school student, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Jodi Kellish, a married mother of three, was arrested in April 2012 and was harged with sexual battery , because she was in a control position over the 17-year-old female student who was supposed to be helping teacher to grade papers. Four students, all juveniles at the time of the alleged offenses, told investigators that Kellish gave them alcohol and cigarettes at her Port Washington home and on school grounds.

In May 2012 Jodi Kellish entered the written "not guilty" pleas to three counts of sexual battery, third-degree felonies, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, first-degree misdemeanors.

The unlawful sexual conduct charge is a fourth-degree felony, whereas the original sexual battery charges were third-degree felonies.

Following sentencing, Kellish will be required to register as a sexual offender for 25 years. Kellish was escorted from the courtroom in handcuffs, destined for the Ohio Reformatory for Women at Marysville.
